Rules and Terms and Conditions:

  1. Entry to the Future Manufacturing Awards is free of charge.

  2. Entries are open until midnight on Friday, 29 June 2018. EEF reserve the right to extend the deadline.

  3. Entries must be submitted electronically through the online portal. Entries must be submitted in English.

  4. Entries are treated in confidence.

  5. Qualification of entry

    Business/ Leadership Entry: The success story you are submitting must have been implemented and delivered in the past three years. You may only re-enter a story if you have made significant updates or changes.

    Apprentice Entry: You must be enrolled in an appropriate apprenticeship within the 2017/18 academic year.

  6. Limited supporting information is permitted, and you are able to upload this at the end of your entry form. A maximum of five items e.g. tables, graphs, photos, testimonials, extracts from reports or presentations (1 photograph = 1 item; PDF document with 3 pages = 3 items.)  Any more than five will not be considered part of the entry. Please be aware that any website links used within your entry will not be activated by the judges.  A photo of the nominated apprentice is required and must be provided where requested. This does not count towards the five pieces of supporting evidence permitted

  7. There is a maximum word count per question.

  8. Entry to more than one award is allowed with the exceptions of:

    Business Categories Entry: Only one submission to each category will be permitted per company, it is up to the entrant to ensure their submission answers are tailored to each entry and relevant. A simple copy and paste will be marked down.

    Apprentice Category Entry: Employers may enter unlimited apprentices per site for each apprentice award category. An apprentice may only enter one apprentice award per year, but may enter business/ leadership awards on behalf of their employer. It is the duty of the entrant to ensure they are entering into the correct category. Entering into the incorrect category may result in disqualification. Please check with the awards team if you are unsure or would like further clarification before submitting your entry.

    Leadership Category Entry: there is no limit on nominations from a company or an individual for this category.

  9. Entries will be judged in three stages by an independent and impartial panel of judges.

    1. Apprentice Entries: By entering, nominated apprentices commit their attendance for the interview stages of the regional and national judging should they be required. Please see interview dates below.  Successful candidates will be notified of time and venue via email if they are successful.

  10. All regional award winners will be announced at (and not before) the relevant Celebration event.  Ticket prices may vary. Visit www.eef.org.uk/awards for further information, dates and venues.

  11. Regional winners will proceed to the National Competition and be in the running for the National Awards. Entry into this competition commits the nominated company/ apprentice/ individual to secure the availability of a representative to attend the national judging day in December 2018, if invited. Some participating businesses may be asked to be involved in filming for the National Gala Dinner. For apprentices and leadership award nominees, the nominated will have to represent themselves.

  12. Regional award winners will be required to provide a photo of themselves/ their team alongside their factory or in their workplace for use in promotional material and at the EEF Awards Gala Dinner.

  13. Entrants may be asked for additional supporting information at the national judging stage.

  14. National award winners will be announced at (and not before) the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards National Gala Dinner in January 2019. For business category entries an overall Winner will be announced at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards National Gala Dinner, selected across all business entries entered into the national stage of the competition.

  15. The e-learning package will be awarded to our manufacturer of the year/ winner of winners'. this prize is non-trasferable or redeemable for cash. All winners benefits such as speaking opportunities and pr are provided as opportunities arrise and not guaranteed.

  16. Incomplete entries will not be judged.

  17. All entries will be acknowledged on receipt. Entry forms will become the property of EEF Ltd and entries will not be returned.  If no receipt of entry is received within 5 working days call 020 7654 1540. Proof of sending/ submitting an entry is not proof of receipt by EEF Ltd or its agents.

  18. Winning entries may be publicised. Applicants are responsible for making appropriate arrangements to protect any intellectual property associated with their application. Entrants must be prepared to participate in post event publicity associated with the awards. No company sensitive information will be included without prior agreement.

  19. EEF reserve the right to withdraw an award from any applicant supplying false/fraudulent/inappropriate information within their entry. Judges reserve the right to audit any information supplied.

  20. EEF reserves the right to update, change or drop categories where required.

  21. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  22. No employee of EEF Ltd or their families shall be entitled to enter.

  23. By entering into our awards you give concent for EEF to contact you in relation to your entry and other Future Manufacturing Awards activity and events and you accept our privacy policy and understand that EEF will contact you in the future to promote the Future Manufacturing Awards. We do not share your personal information with any third parties and you can unsubscribe from this service at any time.

  24. By registering and completing an entry for the awards you agree to these rules.
